The trails at Sand Harbor pass through groves of trees and line the shores of Lake Tahoe. All of the trails are flat and easily accessible by anyone. Short trails line the parking lot and north end of Sand Harbor to Memorial Point. For a longer walk, take the East Shore Trail starting near the Tunnel Creek Café to the entrance of Sand Harbor.
Crystal clear waters and unique rock formations make Sand Harbor the perfect place for swimming and snorkeling. Beach patrol is on duty from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Two boat launches are located adjacent to the parking lot. Check the Sand Harbor website for boat launch times and regulations.
Paddling activities such as kayaking and canoeing are also allowed within Lake Tahoe and can be accessed via Sand Harbor.
Nevada State Parks has switched to a reservation system for entry. Check the requirements for entry here!
Summer at Sand Harbor also offers horse drawn carriage rides, and a Shakespeare Festival in July and August!
Stop by the Kokanee Bar and Grill for a nice lunch and cocktails on the deck.
Although the lake does not freeze in the winter for ice fishing or ice skating, you can enjoy a horse drawn sleigh ride around the lake.

7 a.m. to one hour after sunset, 365 days a year.
