Located at the site of Las Vegas’ original water source, the Springs Preserve is a 180-acre cultural campus celebrating Las Vegas' dynamic history while focusing on its sustainable future. Visitors to the Springs Preserve will discover boundless opportunities to explore ancient and modern history, natural landscapes, archaeological sites, native plants and animals, and current water resource challenges. The campus includes an interpretive trails system that winds through awe-inspiring natural areas. While exploring the trails, visitors will discover recreated wetlands including the Preserve Cienega, a wildlife oasis in the desert featuring lush wetlands and cottonwood stands; Cottonwood Grove, a series of ponds sustaining desert species of frogs and fish; historic structures including well derricks, prehistoric roasting pits, and evidence of the area’s ranching past; and colorful, artfully designed botanical garden featuring desert-adapted plants, trees and shrubs.

The Preserve campus also includes the OriGen Museum, Nevada State Museum, two interactive exhibition spaces (WaterWorks and Boomtown 1905), a colorful botanical garden, art gallery, kids’ learning center, seasonal butterfly habitat, and trackless train rides.
