Description

The Lazy 5 Regional Park Trail is a (length)-mile dirt trail that winds around Lazy 5 Regional Park. It is mostly flat and available to hikers, runners, and bikers. There is no shade on this trail, so please remember to wear a hat and sunscreen when it's sunny out. There are restrooms near the trailhead by the main parking lot.

When you're finished hiking and biking, check out what else Lazy 5 Regional Park has to offer, including:

  • 3 large picnic pavilions, available by reservation only
  • Several picnic tables with barbecues available on a first-come, first-served basis
  • the Spanish Spring Skate Park
  • several soccer fields (permit required)
  • a beach volleyball court
  • horseshoe pits
  • "The Hive" recreation facility, which house basketball and pickleball courts
  • a Nevada-shaped playground
  • The Cottonwood Room in the Cottonwood Community Center, which is available to rent

Other Information

As of 2022, the unfenced lower soccer field at Lazy 5 Regional Park is able to be used by off-leash dogs during non-team use times. For more information on this, please see Washoe County Parks and Open Space's webpage on off-leash dog areas.

Trailhead Information

Lazy 5 Regional Park has a large parking lot with limited handicap parking spaces. There are no designated spaces for trailers or oversized vehicles. Additional parking can be found at the nearby Spanish Springs Library and Cottonwood Community Center, but please adhere to their rules regarding parking lot usage.
